Our Story
Founded in 1991 by Peter Kearon, Barbary Pots produced stunning Moroccan terracotta pots known for their unique designs, unmistakable pale pink colour and remarkable durability.
Barbary Pots quickly became a recognised brand in the 90s and early 00s, seen everywhere from RHS Chelsea Flower Show to the terraces of Mustique. The go-to choice for landscape designers all over the world.
In 2024, Harry Legge, Peter’s Grandson, decided to resurrect this much loved and respected brand after noticing a lack of elegant, hard-wearing, pale pink Moroccan pots on the market. Barbary Pots was reborn as Barbary.
“The vision for Barbary is to provide people with the chance to transform their favourite spaces with a piece of unique and eye-catching (heirloom) pottery that will be enjoyed for generations, as they have in my family. With a mix of relaunched classics and historic Moroccan designs previously unavailable in the UK, all crafted by hand and produced in the same pottery as my Grandfather’s pots, Barbary will introduce this ancient artisan craft to a whole new generation.”
